Even without the Olympics, there certainly was no shortage of action in the world of sports this week.

Preseason football games continued, giving us a glimpse at what this NFL season may have in store. The US Open began in the Queens borough of New York City this week, and the race to the playoffs rolled on in the MLB, with one team getting a special visit from a notable Olympic gymnast.
