Colin Kaepernick's biological mother doesn't agree with his protest
Like many others, Colin Kaepernick's birth mom doesn't agree with his national anthem protest.
The quarterback's biological mother, Heidi Russo, gave him up for adoption at birth. She expressed her disappointment with his decision on her Twitter account:
@Kaepernick7 There's ways to make change w/o disrespecting & bringing shame to the very country & family who afforded you so many blessings.

@Kaepernick7 The path less traveled doesn't need to be one of destruction. #beenthere#besmarter#berespectful

Kaepernick has yet to respond Russo's criticism.
Russo gave birth to Kaepernick when she was 19 years old. Six weeks later, he was adopted by Rick and Teresa Kaepernick. The relationship between Colin and his biological mother is currently unkown.
She followed up on her comments after facing backlash from fans of the quarterback on Twitter:
I'd like to be very clear on this issue, I absolutely support Colin standing up 4 what he believes in. Racism is alive & well in America.

The way our veterans r treated when they return home after serving this country & fighting 4 our freedoms, is just not right.

However, I personally do not agree with the manner in which he chose to do it.
