This fan accidentally threw nachos into his own face trying to catch a foul ball

Pirates fan misses foul ball, dumps ketchup and mustard on to his own face

An eager Pittsburgh Pirates fan had a single moment to make a decision. Would he eat the plate full of newly purchased nachos, or make his foul-ball dreams come to life?

In an attempt to catch the foul ball hit by Pirates player Jung Ho Kang, the fan smothered himself with his own nachos as he leaped to grab the ball.

The worst part? He didn't even catch the ball.

Pirates announcers Greg Brown and Bob Walk expressively described the scene in true play-by-play form: "Nachos. Face full of nachos, cheese and salsa. Beer went flying. That is a classic."

The Pirates caught wind of the catastrophic event and delivered a fresh T-shirt, a baseball and a new plate of nachos to the new Internet sensation:

We give him an A for effort, but not for athleticism.
