Former Miami Dolphins running back Ricky Williams was notoriously associated with marijuana during his NFL career. Now, a Sports Illustrated documentary reveals just how many tests he faced from the league.

"I think I might have the world record for most times drug tested," Williams said. "At least 500 drug tests."

To put that in perspective, Williams played in 147 games during his time in the NFL and has 342 receptions during his entire career. Williams played in every regular season game from 2008–2011 with no incident.

He was suspended multiple times for marijuana use during his NFL career, but retired before the 2004 season after a third failed drug test. In 2007, Williams reportedly failed another drug test, leading to a schedule multiple tests per week as he applied for reinstatement.

Now, he's opening a "marijuana-friendly" gym where marijuana is encouraged. According to the news release, Williams will run the gym and will, "focus on integrative full body and mind training."
