Carmelo Anthony has been recruiting Kevin Durant to the Knicks

Phil Jackson feels Derrick Rose will 'reinvigorate' Carmelo Anthony

It's the hottest topic in NBA Free Agency: where will Kevin Durant end up? He's already ruled out the Los Angeles Lakers and the Washington Wizards, Golden State thinks they might have a better shot after losing a 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals, and the Miami Heat have been rumored to be an outside contender for the 27-year-old.

Now, the New York Knicks might have a shot at bolstering their ranks as Carmelo Anthony attempts to recruit Kevin Durant.

The two will be together for the near future, as they're both members of the team the USA is sending to the Rio de Janeiro Olympics in August. Being that close to each other puts Carmelo right in the ear of Durant. If Durant signs with the Knicks, they immediately become contenders due to their offseason acquisition of former Chicago Bull Derrick Rose. Getting Carmelo Anthony, Derrick Rose and Kevin Durant on the same court in Knicks jerseys would be one of the greatest free agency heists of the decade. The Knicks also have the services of budding star Kristaps Porzingis.

I don't think it's a hot take at all to say that if the Knicks get both Durant and Rose in free agency that they'll be in the conversation to make it into the NBA Finals. It's simply too much star power not to be gunning for a title immediately.

As an added bonus, if Kevin Durant signs with the Knicks, Lil B will remove the Based God's curse on him.
