Watch Sir Alex Ferguson and Sequoia's Sir Mike Moritz speak at TechCrunch Disrupt
On Monday, legendary soccer coach Sir Alex Ferguson took to the stage at TechCrunch Disrupt London to speak about leadership with Sir Michael Moritz, renowned tech investor and chairman of Sequoia Capital.
Sir Alex Ferguson retired as manager of Manchester United in May 2013 following a period of over 26 years at the helm. Over the course of his career, he won 49 major trophies, making him the most successful manager in the history of British football.
Ferguson was known for placing his emphasis on attacking football, with homegrown talent at the heart of his teams.
After Ferguson retired, he became Director and Global Ambassador with Manchester United and was also appointed Coaching Ambassador by UEFA.
His book "My Autobiography" was the UK's fastest selling non-fiction book in 2013.
Ferguson's new book, "LEADING: Learning from Life and My Years at Manchester United," co-written with Sir Michael Moritz, delves into the qualities and motivational tools a good leader needs. According to TechCrunch, the book is "wry, and full of wisdom, completely applicable to the tech startup world, such as Sir Alex's advice on identifying, developing, and managing talent, and measuring people."
