Miranda Kerr on her go-to beauty products and her organic skincare company

From being a mother, international model and mogul, it's clear that Miranda Kerr really does it all.

Somehow while working, having a family and traveling constantly, in 2009 Kerr found the time to launch KORA Organics, her organic skincare company that is focused on helping people keep their skin healthy. We chatted with Kerr all about her company, her skincare routine and, of course, her favorite products. Read the full Q&A below!

AOL: Why is it so important for everyone to be using natural beauty products?

Miranda Kerr: It is important to use certified organic and natural skincare products, because what you put on your skin soaks directly into your bloodstream. Everyone is so concerned with eating organic and non-processed foods, but they don't think about all the chemicals in the everyday products they are using and putting on their skin. And there is a difference between certified organic and natural products… many products claim to be organic, but actually only use one or two organic ingredients. Unless products are certified by an independent body they come with no guarantees, because using the terms natural and/or organic on packaging or in marketing is unregulated.

Due to the lack of regulation within the beauty industry, manufacturers can misleadingly label their products as ‘organic’ or ‘natural’ even though they contain processed, toxic and chemically enhanced ingredients – it’s just false marketing. That is why it was so important to me to have my products be certified – so you know exactly what you are putting on your skin is what it claims to be. There is integrity behind our brand and that is extremely important to me.

AOL: What is your favorite product from KORA Organics?

MK: I’m absolutely obsessed with the new Noni Radiant Eye Oil! It contains kahai oil, which is a natural retinol that helps improve elasticity and smooth fine lines, coffee seed oil, to revitalize and reduce puffiness, tomato fruit extract, to brighten the eye area, and, my hero ingredient across all of my products, noni fruit extract, which contains over 100 vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. My favorite part of the eye oil is the special rose quartz applicator, it’s super soothing and uplifting.

I’m really proud of the results. When we did consumer testing over a 4 week period, 90% noticed fine lines around the eye area appeared visibly softened and 93% noticed visible improvement in the eye area looking healthier and smoother.

AOL: What is your number one skincare rule?

MK: Use certified organic and natural products. Keep it clean and simple, and focus on the overall health of your skin, because to me healthy skin is the most beautiful skin.

AOL: What does your spring beauty routine look like?

MK: Each morning I dry body brush; I find it’s the best way to get the circulation going and remove any dead skin cells. I start at the feet and move up the leg with quick strokes, then gently onto my arms (I like to always brush towards the heart).

After my shower I apply a combination of Noni Glow Body Oil and the Noni Glow Body Balm all over, especially focusing on stretch-mark prone areas since I am currently pregnant.

I wash my face with KORA Organics Foaming Cleanser, followed by the Energizing Citrus Mist, Noni Radiant Eye Oil (my new obsession) and Hydrating Moisturizer mixed with a couple drops of Noni Glow Face Oil.

In the evening, I like to use the KORA Organics Cream Cleanser – and I double cleanse to ensure my make up is all removed, followed by the Calming Lavender Mist, Noni Radiant Eye Oil, Noni Glow Face Oil and the Soothing Moisturizer – I give myself a little facial massage at the same time. I make sure to apply the combination of Noni Glow Body Oil and Body Balm all over again. I also lightly spray my pillow with the lavender mist to help me sleep.

AOL: Which KORA products do you rely on most when traveling?

MK: Traveling can take its toll on your skin, so it’s important to ensure you keep as hydrated as possible throughout the flight. My must-haves are:

  • KORA Organics Body Balm and Face Balm –They are easy to apply throughout the flight and protect your skin from the drying effects of the cabin.

  • KORA Organics Calming Lavender Mist and Energizing Citrus Mists –They are both also super hydrating and contain ingredients to fight free radicals.

  • KORA Organics Vitamin Enhanced Lip Balm – Lips can get super dry when flying so I apply this throughout the flight.

  • KORA Organics Daily Hand Cream – Hands are often forgotten and can be the first area to show signs of premature aging, so I apply this hand cream regularly and always after washing my hands.

  • KORA Organics Skinfood Supplement – It’s a water-soluble superfood powder packaged into single serve sachets, so it’s perfect for traveling and contains all my essential vitamins and minerals.

  • KORA Organics Heart Chakra Aromatherapy Oil – It’s my personal aromatherapy blend based on healing and opening the heart chakra. It is also supercharged with rose quartz crystals, which is believed to carry a soothing energy to encourage love and acceptance of ourselves and others.
