Dak Prescott hosts birthday party with Ezekiel Elliott amid coronavirus, social distancing push
Millions of Americans across the country are under some form of a stay-at-home order amid the COVID-19 pandemic, and Texas is no different.
Dallas Cowboys stars Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott, however, apparently gave no thought to that mandate on Friday.
Prescott hosted a birthday party for one of his friends at his house just outside of Dallas on Friday night, according to TMZ Sports. Elliott, along with about 30 other people, were allegedly in attendance.

The party was in violation of Texas’ stay-at-home order, which officially restricted social gatherings of more than 10 people and requires Texans to stay home except to provide “essential services or do essential things,” according to The New York Times. Obviously, that party doesn’t fall into either of those categories.
Per the report, local police even responded to a report of a potential party at Prescott’s house, though they were “unable to verify the report of a party.” Police ended up reminding Prescott “of the current CDC guidelines — to include social distancing.”
This isn’t the first time this month that Prescott has ignored social distancing guidelines.
Prescott worked out with former Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant and several others last week, and were often much closer than the CDC recommended distance of six-feet apart.

It’s not like they don’t know about the efforts to keep people inside to help curb the spread of the deadly virus, either. Elliott took part in Nike’s big “play inside, play for the world” push last month — a new ad campaign urging social distancing.
There were nearly 519,000 confirmed cases of the coronavirus in the United States as of Saturday afternoon, according to The New York Times, and more than 12,700 in Texas alone. The NFL has delayed all offseason programs indefinitely due the crisis, and many are starting to question what the season will look like this fall amid the pandemic.
If players like Prescott and Elliott keep ignoring basic coronavirus prevention practices like that, not only will the outbreak last longer in general, but the likelihood of the upcoming season going forward as scheduled will continue to shrink.
Next time, maybe try a Zoom party instead.
