Heartwarming moment 12-year-old cries seeing color for the first time

A color-blind boy's world just got a little brighter.

12-year-old Jonathan Jones was learning about colorblindness in class on Nov. 21 when his school's principal, Scott Hanson, came in. Hanson, who also suffers from colorblindness, gave Jonas a pair of special glasses that allow the wearer to see color.

Jones's reaction was incredibly moving.

At first, he gives a little jolt of surprise at his surroundings, which makes the class laugh and applaud. Moments later, Jones becomes visibly overwhelmed and breaks down in tears, as Hanson comforts him with a hug.

The amazing footage was originally posted by Jones's brother, Ben, on Twitter. The clip has 8.3 million views and over 28,000 retweets.

According to Reuters, the glasses cost around $350. Carole Jones, Jonathan and Ben's mother, started a GoFundMe account to help raise money to provide other colorblind kids and adults with the proper glasses. Since starting the page on Friday, the family has raised over $28,000 and received multiple donated pairs for Jonathan to wear.
