Student scores free tuition after sinking half-court shot

A University of Nevada, Reno student just got very lucky.

Rhys York accepted the challenge at the season opener basketball game on Wednesday to win a year of free tuition if he made the shot from half court.

ABC News aired the clip on Wednesday night, where York can be seen setting himself up at half court for the shot. The odds of making a basket from that point are one in 100.

The crowd explodes when York makes the shot and he then runs into the arms of the nearby college mascots. The Greater Nevada Credit Union, a program that offers scholarship programs throughout Nevada, will now pay a year's worth of tuition for York.
