Teen pleads guilty to murdering girlfriend pregnant with their baby: 'I took her life'

A teen pleaded guilty on Wednesday to killing his girlfriend, who was pregnant with their child.

Aaron Trejo, 17, accepted a plea deal and pleaded guilty to murder and feticide. Under the agreement, the state won’t file any other charges, WSBT reported.

Last December, he confessed to fatally stabbing Breana Rouhselang, who was six months pregnant. The teen’s remains were found in a restaurant dumpster.

Trejo told investigators he’d had an argument with Rouhselang about her pregnancy. He believed she was too far along to have an abortion.

"I took action ... I took her life," he had told police.

Trejo and Rouhselang were classmates at Mishawaka High School in Mishawaka, Indiana. Wayne Barker, the school district’s superintendent, released a statement regarding the case:

"We trust our local authorities to complete the legal process which includes sentencing in January. Our thoughts are with the Mishawaka families who continue to grieve this terrible loss."

A sentencing hearing is scheduled for January 7, 2020.
