A fight broke out on Wednesday between the Minnesota Timberwolves' Karl-Anthony Towns and the Philadelphia 76ers' Joel Embiid.

The incident occurred in the third quarter after Embiid physically double-teamed Towns on offense. After Towns turned the ball over, he and Embiid stayed in the back-court grappling with one another. Embiid shoved Towns and Towns then threw a punch at Embiid, as the two got locked up and fell to the ground.

Players from both teams ran over to break it up, with the Sixers' Ben Simmons getting on top of Towns and restraining him with a head-lock.

The fight was broken up fairly quickly, as Embiid got up and began firing up the Sixers bench, throwing air punches like a boxer. Towns was directed by coaches and security back toward the Wolves bench.

Both players were ejected.

Here's video of the incident:

The fight is the NBA's most high-profile in years, with the main participants all All-Star players. The NBA has drastically curbed fighting in recent years, to the point that it's rare to see a player throw a punch, as Towns did.

Suspensions for Embiid and Towns are likely.
