Three killed, nine wounded in shooting during Halloween party at California home

Three men were fatally shot and at least nine others were injured in a shooting Tuesday night during what appeared to be a Halloween party at a home in California.

The Long Beach Fire Department in a tweet said officials were called to the residence around 10:44 p.m.

Long Beach Fire spokesman Jake Helfin told KTLA that first responders were “confronted with a scene that was very chaotic” and that the shooting was being handled as a “mass casualty incident.”

A motive for the attack was not immediately clear and authorities said they were looking for several suspects.

First responder found victims both inside and outside the home in Long Beach.

All three of the men killed were pronounced dead on the scene and believed to be in their 20s.

Another nine victims were transported to area hospitals, who also all appeared to be in their 20s.

No other information on those killed or injured has been released, but Heflin said it is possible the number of casualties could increase.
