A 14-year-old girl has been charged with battery after she allegedly walked up to a man in a Donald Trump costume and punched him in the face as her friends recorded a video.

The incident took place at a fairground in Naples, Fla., on Saturday as the man was standing in line at a haunted house. According to a police report, the man was waiting with his family when the girl and her friends approached him.

The 14-year-old then reportedly punched the man, who was dressed in a full Trump outfit for Halloween, in the jaw. She then ran back to her place in line with about four other teenagers.

But the man followed the girl and pressed her as to why she punched him. He then reported the incident to a worker at the fairground before calling the police.

Authorities said they interviewed the unnamed girl and her parents, with investigators reportedly telling them they may need to follow up with more questions later, as the "sole motivation was to strike 'Trump.'"

Authorities also spoke with a woman who said she worked for the Collier County school system and had seen a video of the alleged incident posted on Instagram. It's unclear whether that video is still live on the platform.

The girl now faces a misdemeanor battery charge, according to the Collier County Sheriff's Office.
