Updated World Series odds say champions will hail from American League

That crisp chill in the fall air can only mean one thing: the American League is about to produce a World Series champion for the third straight year.

The Houston Astros and New York Yankees are set to duel in the American League Championship Series beginning on Saturday, and the odds are behind whichever team emerges victorious.

With only four teams remaining in the playoffs, none of their odds of winning the World Series are particularly bad – but it's clear that sportsbooks believe this season's MLB champion will hail from the AL.

The National League Championship Series between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Washington Nationals begins on Friday night. According to sportsbook.ag, the Nationals have a slight edge in the series.
