Report: Rob Gronkowski joining Fox Sports as NFL analyst

Been pining for Rob Gronkowski since his retirement after Super Bowl LIII?

We have good news for you.

Report: Gronkowski hired as Fox NFL Sunday analyst

Via NFL Network, Gronkowski is headed for television. He’s signed with Fox as a regular analyst for the network’s NFL Sunday pre-game show.

Gronkowski will be joining an already-crowded set: Fox NFL Sunday has Curt Menafee as host, with former coach Jimmy Johnson, and Hall of Famers Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long, Michael Strahan and Tony Gonzalez.

It is unclear at this time what Gronkowski’s role will be.

Personality on display

Given the relaxed atmosphere most Sunday pre-game shows promote, Gronkowski should be a natural.

He’s often wrongly characterized as a meathead or know-nothing, but while he can be very funny and goofy he’s also quite smart, particularly when it comes to football. If he’s allowed to show his personality, he should be a natural, and will add a much-needed younger voice to the Fox panel.

In August, Gronkowski announced that he’s partnered with a CBD company and became emotional when he said that football was “bringing me down” and that he wasn’t in a good place mentally or physically, leading to his decision to retire at age 30.
