Cops form a human chain to rescue family trapped in car

Dramatic bodycam footage was released Tuesday showing a human chain of police officers working to rescue a family who was trapped in their car in the rising floodwaters in Conroe, Texas. Inside Edition covered the event in the video above.

The event occurred two weeks ago when Tropical Storm Imelda hit.

In the clip, members of the family are seen being passed from person to person until they got to safety. The officers involved have been honored for their efforts.

Tropical Storm Imelda dumped more than 40 inches of rain in certain areas of Texas, and is considered to have caused almost as much damage as Hurricane Harvey, which was one of the most destructive natural disasters to have hit the state.
