Airport catering truck goes berserk, nearly slams into plane

A rogue catering truck at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport lost control and started to wreck havoc on the tarmac on Monday. Someone in the airport filmed the incident, as seen in the In The Know video above.

The dramatic clip shows the vehicle spinning around in circles, despite no one sitting behind the wheel. Several employees watched and tried to run out of the way, unsure about what to do to stop the high-speed disaster and also concerned over its close proximity to a nearby American Airlines plane.

But before the cart could cause anymore damage, an airline worker drove a second cart into the spinning truck and successfully stopped it.

An American Airlines spokesperson said that there was an investigation underway to figure out what went wrong, but an early assumption was that the accelerator had gotten stuck.
