Jags coach Doug Marrone can't stop laughing after repeated questions on Jalen Ramsey

Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey missed practice on Monday due to sickness, Wednesday due to a back injury, and now has left the team for the birth of his second child.

Those all may seem like legitimate excuses to skip football drills, but the moves are raising eyebrows due to a trade request Ramsey made two weeks prior that has not yet been fulfilled.

When asked about the number of practices his young star is missing, Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone could do nothing but laugh.

A reporter during Marrone's press conference on Wednesday ran through the multiple reasons Ramsey has given for missing team events this week, mentioning that the timing was "curious." Marrone, however, said he wasn't concerned.

"A lot of guys didn't practice Monday," Marrone said.

In a statement posted to the team's Twitter account, the coach said Ramsey informed him of the upcoming birth of his child "months ago."

Ramsey, 24, has been with Jacksonville since he was drafted fifth overall in 2016. He publicly asked for a trade from the team after its loss to the Houston Texans in Week 2. He has since stopped commenting on the matter.
