Ghost wheelchair: Security footage shows chair rolling itself around Indian hospital

An Indian security guard got the chance to celebrate Halloween early this year — whether he wanted to or not.

Manoj Kumar was working early in the morning at a hospital in Chandigarh when he noticed something strange. One of the wheelchairs parked outside of the building had started rolling around — even though there was no one on it.

"I came out to drink water and I saw the wheelchair moving on its own," Kumar told Newsflare.

Security footage from outside the building confirmed Kumar's spooky story. The video, captured by CCTV, shows the wheelchair slowly roll out of a corner, taking a winding path toward a walkway nearby.

At one point, the wheelchair even seems to back away from a railing before moving forward again and rolling off into the distance. Kumar himself can also be seen on camera, exiting the hospital to investigate the mysterious moving chair.

The security guard did find the incident strange, but he didn't think anything paranormal was going on.

"It was just wind and nothing else," Kumar said. "I was also feeling very cold."

Kumar noted that it was definitely windy that morning, which could explain how the chair was able to roll so far despite not being on an incline. However, paranormal experts also believe cold spots are a sign of haunted areas.

"What is more, only certain people seem to feel these cold spots. Others can stand in the same place and feel nothing," the U.K.'s Paranormal Education and Research Charity says of the spots.

Regardless of how people perceive the incident, the pre-Halloween timing of "ghost wheelchair" feels like an ideal October occurrence.
