Real-life 'Breaking Bad': Internet thinks man wanted for meth possession looks like Walter White

Updated

The mugshot of a man wanted for meth possession has some "Breaking Bad" fans seeing double.

Police in Illinois shared a photo of the man, who is wanted for a probation violation related to possession of methamphetamines, last week — looking for help in locating him.

But fans of the critically acclaimed drama quickly chimed in with their own revelation. Todd W. Barrick Jr., the man in the photo, bears a strong resemblance to the show's protagonist, Walter White.

"Well, I guess we have a spoiler for the 'Breaking Bad' movie," one user, Amber Hendricks, wrote.

Barrick, with his bald head, goatee and glasses, had many commenters making comparisons to the character, played by actor Bryan Cranston.

"Brian Cranston is looking rough," commenter Nathan Courson said.

Another Facebook user, Robert Dole, weighed in with references to some of the show's most iconic settings.

"Have you tried Albuquerque? Perhaps at Los Pollos Hermanos," he said.

KWQC-TV points out that Barrick is 50 years old — the same age Walter White is at the beginning of the series.

"Breaking Bad," which ran from 2008 to 2013, is making a return this fall with a new movie focusing on the aftermath of the show's finale. Fans eager for more Walter White may have to get by on Barrick's mugshot until then.
