More than 1,000 flights canceled as Dorian moves closer

More than 1,000 flights canceled as Hurricane Dorian inches closer to the U.S.

That’s according to aviation tracking website FlightAware.

CNN says that includes flights in or out of the U.S., as well as flights within the country.

This after the Bahamas is experiencing catastrophic damage as Dorian hit the island with winds of over 170 miles per hour and Florida prepares as the storm is expected to head there.

Flights can be cancelled for many reasons, but, according to CNN, most of them are likely canceled due to the storm.

According to USA Today, Florida airports account for the bulk of cancellations on the Sunday before Labor Day.
