Trump gets roasted for boasting about donating his salary
President Trump has gotten roasted by social media after tweeting, “I donate 100% of my President’s salary, $400,000, back to our Country, and feel very good about it!”
His Friday post was made after it was announced that he had chosen the Office of the Surgeon General to receive his second-quarter salary for 2019.
Nevertheless, many on Twitter were quick to mock Trump’s seemingly generous gesture by pointing out the high expenses incurred by his frequent golf outings.
One person wrote, in part, “He donates 400k & writes it off but charges hundreds of thousands for government officials, security etc to Stay in his hotels while protecting him, while he plays GOLF & charges the American people.”

And someone else said simply, “Take the salary and stop playing golf. You’ll save us a lot of money.”
The Huffington Post reported in May that “Donald Trump’s golf habit has already cost taxpayers at least $102 million in extra travel and security expenses.”
