Look back at Tom Brady's first-ever NFL action during the 2000 preseason

Believe it or not, there was once a time when Tom Brady wasn't playing in the NFL.

The longtime New England Patriots quarterback was drafted 199th overall in the 2000 NFL draft and made his regular season debut the next year after Drew Bledsoe's now-infamous injury. Brady would go on to lead the Patriots to their first Super Bowl win in franchise history that postseason, and the rest, as they say, is history.

That fateful September day wasn't Brady's first look at NFL action, however. The then-recent-draftee took the field in the fourth quarter of a game against the San Francisco 49ers during the 2000 preseason.

The Patriots were already up 20-0 in the game when Brady entered and would go on to win by the same score.
