Trump thanks himself for making U.S. 'the envy of the world'
President Trump thanked himself on Saturday over recent stock market gains.
Reacting to a report about major U.S. stock markets hitting record highs, Trump wrote on Twitter: “Our Country is the envy of the World. Thank you, Mr. President!”
The president has posted similar tweets in the past.
“Stock Market is heading for one of the best months (June) in the history of our Country. Thank you Mr. President!” Trump tweeted last month.
Just days prior, he wrote: “Stock Market is on track to have the best June in over 50 years! Thank you Mr. President! @WSJ.”
In an exchange with reporters on Friday, Trump said his administration has performed better on the economy that the previous administration.
“When President Obama was here, he paid close to zero interest rates,” Trump said. “I’m paying real interest, and yet our economy is much better than it’s ever been.”
