Horrifying video shows woman attempting to kidnap kids at Atlanta airport

Dramatic surveillance footage from an Atlanta airport captured a woman attempting to grab two children before their parents fight her off.

The video, published by WSB-TV, shows 26-year-old Esther Daniels, of Kansas, trying to leave the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport last Saturday with a child in a stroller. When the mother fights Daniels off, the suspect then tries to grab another child. The father subsequently steps in to prevent the woman's second kidnapping attempt.

As the situation unfolds, a traffic control officer rushes in to help.

"She deserves all the praise," police spokesperson Tashena Brown said of the officer. "Especially for her to have been working, really, in a civilian capacity, for her to just to jump in right away with no hesitation is amazing."

Daniels was later subdued by three other officers, who put her in a wheelchair.

"Her behavior was very erratic, but we can’t really speak on what her mental state was, but we can agree that what she did was very erratic and odd, to say the least," Brown said.

Daniels reportedly checked into Grady Memorial Hospital before she was arrested on charges of kidnapping and obstructing an officer. She is currently being held in jail without bond.
