’I curse you all’: Nebraska man accused of murdering 24-year-old woman slashes his own throat in court

A Nebraska man on trial for the murder of a 24-year-old woman slit his own throat Monday in court — just after declaring the innocence of his alleged accomplice.

Aubrey Trail, 52, was seen swiping an object across his neck and falling from his wheelchair at the Saline County Courthouse in Wilber, video from inside the courtroom shows.

Just before he cut himself, he yelled “Bailey is innocent and I curse you all.” It was not immediately clear when his trial will resume or how badly Trail was injured. He was rushed to a local hospital.

Judge Vicky Johnson said that when the trial does start up again, Trail will have to be in handcuffs, according to KOLN. The courthouse declined to comment on the incident.

Trail and Bailey Boswell, 25, are charged with first-degree murder in the killing and dismemberment of Sydney Loofe.

Prosecutors have said that the two planned Loofe’s abduction and killing in 2017. Trail’s attorney alleged her death was an accident during a consensual sex fantasy.

Loofe’s body was found in garbage bags in a rural area in December, according to KOLN. She had been missing for 19 days after going on a date with Boswell.
