Reality TV star Melissa Rycroft latest to fall ill in Dominican Republic
Officials are scrambling to figure out why so many tourists are falling ill while vacationing in the Dominican Republic.
The latest victim: “The Bachelor” and “Dancing With The Stars” star Melissa Rycroft.
Days after posting an Instagram featuring her husband and three children that was tagged with the Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts in Punta Cana, Rycroft posted a photo of herself in a doctor’s exam room, looking considerably under the weather.

“After a really rough week, I have been put on a liquid diet, and given meds for my severe cramping,” Rycroft wrote on Instagram.
“Fingers crossed this goes away in 3 days - doc says next step is a Parasite test if it doesn’t....”

Nine American tourists have died in the Dominican Republic since summer 2018. Dozens of others have reported falling ill quickly and mysteriously, leading to trips being cut short and, in some cases, hospital stays.
