Kevin Durant had surgery to repair ruptured Achilles
Kevin Durant sustained a ruptured right Achilles tendon on Monday night during Game 5 of the NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors, and has already undergone surgery to repair it.
Durant posted a post-surgery photo of himself on Instagram, giving everyone the lowdown on how he’s feeling after an injury that could change the trajectory of his career.
Durant, 30, exited Game 5 in the second quarter after landing awkwardly on his right leg and going down to the ground in obvious pain. He limped back to the locker room and was seen leaving Scotiabank Arena on crutches with a walking boot. The Warriors previously announced that Durant suffered an Achilles injury, but were unable to offer a more specific diagnosis. There had been no update on Durant’s injury since Monday night.
Game 5 was Durant’s first game in over a month. He strained his right calf in Game 5 of the Western Conference semifinals back in early May and had been out ever since.
