Kevin Durant practicing with Warriors ahead of Game 5

Updated

Kevin Durant has been cleared to practice with the Warriors and the 2019 NBA Finals has taken another turn.

One of the league’s best scoring threats, Durant has been out with a right calf injury since Game 5 of the Western Conference second round and has watched from the sidelines as Golden State has fallen behind the Toronto Raptors 3-1.

While Golden State coach Steve Kerr did not confirm Durant would play in Game 5 at Toronto, he told reporters he was encouraged by the small forward’s progress and will have a better sense of his status after he works out with some of the team’s younger players on Sunday.

Durant averaged 26 points, 6.4 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game with the Warriors this season. In two games against Toronto, Durant averaged 40.5 points, nine rebounds and 5.5 blocks including a 51-point outing on the road.
