Kevin Durant practicing with Warriors ahead of Game 5

Kevin Durant has been cleared to practice with the Warriors and the 2019 NBA Finals has taken another turn.

One of the league’s best scoring threats, Durant has been out with a right calf injury since Game 5 of the Western Conference Semifinal and has watched from the sidelines as Golden State has fallen into a 3-1 series deficit to the Toronto Raptors.

While Golden State coach Steve Kerr did not rule out Durant playing in Game 5 at Toronto, he told reporters he was encouraged by the small forward’s progress and will have a better sense of his status after he works out with some of the team’s younger players on Sunday.

Durant averaged 26 points, 6.4 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game with the Warriors this season. In two games against Toronto this season, Durant averaged 40.5 points, nine rebounds and 5.5 blocks including a 51-point outing on the road.
