DHL driver stops car to carry elderly man across street in viral video

A DHL driver is being praised after a dash cam recorded him helping an elderly man cross a street in Singapore.

Anson Chung, an employee for the popular delivery service, got out of his car after he noticed the senior citizen struggling to cross the street with his walker, Coconut Singapore reports. The traffic light had just turned green, and the deliveryman was worried that the man would get hit.

In footage recorded of the event, Chung can initially be seen helping the man by grabbing his arm and moving the walker step by step. He then realizes that the two are holding up traffic and decides to take matters into his own hands. Chung tells a car to pass before helping the man onto his back and briskly crossing the road while the man holds his walker.

Hambali Leonardi submitted the dash cam footage to ROADS SG, an organization that brings "awareness and positive change to [Singapore's] road community." The group then posted the clip on its Facebook page, where the video immediately went viral with over 369K views.

"Not all superheroes wear capes," the video's description reads.

Leonardi was apparently so impressed by Chung's act that he decided to donate $100.00 SGD to the young man. ROADS SG said it would personally give the money to Chung in a red envelope on Tuesday.

Netizens flooded the video's comment section, complimenting Chung for a job well done.

"Proud of you!" one person wrote. "You are not only making DHL company proud, you are making all people in Singapore feel proud too!"
