White House misspells 'Red Sox' ahead of team's championship visit

Updated

The White House made a mistake ahead of the Boston Red Sox' visit on Thursday that the internet won't soon let it forget.

On both the White House's official website and its YouTube channel, a headline was displayed welcoming the "Red Socks" for their 2018 World Series celebration.

It's not an error that spellcheck would catch, but it's an error nonetheless. The small snafu was reportedly fixed shortly after 9 a.m. Eastern Time, but it was up long enough for screenshots to be grabbed — and we all know screenshots last forever.

The Red Sox are scheduled to visit President Donald Trump at the White House on Thursday afternoon. Several notable players and manager Alex Cora have said they will not be in attendance.
