NFL comeback players to watch in 2019

Updated

Injuries are an inevitable part of the NFL. Torn ligaments and fractured bones don't discriminate against any team, position or pay grade. Thankfully, with proper medical attention and support, players that get hurt can generally return to their previous form -- if not even better.

Several notable athletes went down during the 2018 season and will be using 2019 to stage their comebacks. According to the experts at NFL Network, the top players to watch this season are Earl Thomas, Cooper Kupp and two big names on the Atlanta Falcons' defense.

Thomas suffered a broken leg in September of last season while with the Seattle Seahawks. He infamously flipped the bird to the sideline, signifying his displeasure with both his contract and the brutal injury. Now with the Baltimore Ravens, the safety is looking to prove that he deserves the money he's getting.

Kupp, a wide receiver for the Los Angeles Rams, went down in Week 10 of 2018 with a torn ACL. The Rams still went on to play in Super Bowl LIII, but it simply wasn't the same dangerous offense L.A. had boasted while Kupp was healthy. The receiver's return should vastly improve a Rams squad that was only able to muster three points against the New England Patriots in the championship.

In Atlanta, linebacker Deion Jones and safety Keanu Neal are both coming back from injuries. The Falcons defense was formidable in 2017 and the readditions of Jones and Neal could prove to be just what the doctor ordered to get Atlanta back into the postseason.
