Bubba Watson admits he loves to send Tiger Woods random texts of things like water bottles
Tiger Woods is not shy with the block feature on his cell phone and Bubba Watson has no one to blame but himself. That’s what you get for flooding the GOAT with nonsensical pictures of basic bottled water.
Watson made an appearance Wednesday on “The Dan Patrick Show,” where the golfer dished on Woods’ return to the top at the Masters last month.
He also divulged a longstanding tradition of sorts in which he floods Woods with messages — unnecessary, random messages — during the week of the Ryder Cup and eventually gets himself blocked again.
“The real reason I try to make these team events — here’s the real reason. I try to make these team events because Tiger usually, when he was injured, he was on the team as a vice captain or a captain or whatever. And now that he’s playing and he’s making the teams, that’s how I get his number. Because you get every player’s number so y’all can have a group text going. So even if he blocks me, then I get it that week, then I’ll have it for a little bit.
This seems like a good place to stop so that you have Woods’ number for future wants and needs, but continue, Bubba.
“I send him so many text messages. I send him so much stuff,” said the 40-year-old Watson. It was followed by laughter around the studio and the question of exactly what he’s sending.
“Just random stuff. Like ‘hey look at this, here’s [a photo of] a bottle of water.’ So that might be why he blocks me. But for that one week, that one week when we’re on the team together, I love to just send him random stuff. And he’s like ‘can you please stop.’”
That is almost certainly why he blocks you. Understandably so.
