Criminal past of Florida Easter Bunny brawler comes to light

Updated

A man who went viral after getting into a brawl dressed as the Easter Bunny allegedly has an extensive criminal record spanning multiple states.

The man caught on camera partaking in an all-out brawl in downtown Orlando, Fla., on Sunday night has been identified as 20-year-old Antoine McDonald, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

McDonald allegedly intervened after a man bumped into a woman on the street near SAK Comedy Lab, which quickly escalated into a physical altercation.

Footage of the tussle shared on Instagram shows the Easter Bunny hopping into the fight, initially trying to separate the man from the woman before resorting to throwing rabbit punches of his own.

After the video went viral, McDonald spoke with several news outlets and even created an Instagram account to celebrate his newfound fame, leading multiple local police departments to speak out about the costumed vigilante's criminal past.

McDonald's is currently wanted in South Brunswick, N.J., in connection with a vehicle burglary in September 2018 and was also recently a "person of interest" in a carjacking and two armed robberies in the state, the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Additionally, McDonald was arrested by police in Dover, Del., in early 2017 after he and two others were accused of committing two armed robberies in a span of 12 hours on New Year’s Day. He was charged with two counts of robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, second-degree conspiracy and tampering with physical evidence in relation to the incident.

In January 2019, McDonald was arrested in Pasco County, N.J., for allegedly trying to use a fake ID to rent a U-Haul. He posted a $500 bond but the case remains pending.

One month later, McDonald was arrested in Florida on a charge of reckless driving by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Although the Easter Sunday brawl was broken up by the Orlando Police Department, no one was arrested in connection with the incident.
