Anders Holch Povlsen, Denmark's richest man and father of 4, loses 3 children in Sri Lanka bombings

Billionaire businessman Anders Holch Povlsen lost three of his four children during the bombings in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday.

Povlsen, the CEO of wholesale fashion business Bestseller and richest man in Denmark, was reportedly visiting the country with his wife, Anne, and children on vacation when the attacks took place.

Jesper Stubkier, communications manager for Bestseller, confirmed to the Press Association on Monday that three of Povlsen's children had been killed, although he provided no further details.

"We have no further comment and we ask that the family’s privacy is respected at this time," Stubkier said.

It remains unclear which of the eight coordinated bombings, which took place at churches and luxury hotels throughout the country and claimed the lives of at least 290 people, killed Povlsen's children.

The businessman has an estimated net worth of $7.9 billion and is one of the biggest private landowners in Scotland.

On top of his position as CEO of Bestseller, which he also owns, Povlsen is also the majority stakeholder in popular online retailer ASOS.
