Embarrassing spelling error at Florida school crosswalk has people shaking their heads

Stay in "scohol," kids — at least, that's what one Florida road would suggest you do.

Instead of S-C-H-O-O-L, a recently painted pedestrian crosswalk in the city of Dural reads S-C-O-H-O-L, WPLG reports.

“It’s not a good thing when you misspell 'school,'" resident Maxwell Easter told the station. "It’s not a good look. At all."

Photos of the comical flub went viral on social media, prompting the city to address the error — as well as point a blaming finger at the party responsible.

"This SCHOOL zone striping was handled by the developer's contractor," it wrote on Twitter. "They have been notified and are working expeditiously to correct. Thank you to all who brought this very important matter to our attention."

By Thursday night, the word "school" was painted as it should be, according to WPLG. It is unclear how long the error remained on the crosswalk.
