Florida teenager arrested for trying wrestling move on principal

A Florida teenager was arrested for attempting a wrestling move on his principal.

Gianny Sosa, 18, appeared in court on Thursday for trying to pull an "RKO" — a move popularized by WWE wrestler Randy Orton that involves grabbing the back of an opponent's head and driving the person's face into a mat when he or she falls — on Humberto Miret at Miami Southridge Senior High School, according to WPLG.

In a video, Sosa, a senior at the school, approaches Miret in a second-floor hallway before trying to grab hold of the latter's neck. Miret responds quickly, puts the student in a chokehold and shoves him away.

Sosa later recorded an Instagram video in which he appears to cower in the corner of a room and tells Umberto to not touch him. Umberto is seen talking to someone on a two-way radio and telling Sosa to put his phone down.

Umberto was persistent about pressing charges against Sosa, a police report noted. The teenager was ultimately charged with battery on a school official and interference with an educational institution. A judge ruled that Sosa was eligible for pretrial services, which meant that he could be released without having to post bail.

Sosa seemed to revel in his fame, posting a link to the WPLG story about his arrest on his Instagram. The high schooler has previously performed other reckless stunts for attention — in one video, he is seen somersaulting backwards into a ball pit at a Walmart.
