Steph Curry gifts Texas Tech basketball signature shoes ahead of Final Four

When Texas Tech takes on Michigan State on Saturday in the NCAA tournament’s Final Four, they’ll be doing so in style, courtesy of Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry.

Curry gifted the team pairs of his signature ‘Under Armour Curry 6.’

In a pre-recorded message, Curry congratulated the team on their impressive run throughout March Madness before revealing his gift for the team.

The Red Raiders opened their March Madness streak with a 72-57 victory over Northern Kentucky in the first round before handling No. 6 seed Buffalo, 78-58, to move onto the Sweet 16.

In the Sweet 16 against No. 2 seed Michigan, Texas Tech won soundly 63-44. Finally, the team took down heavyweight and No. 1 seed Gonzaga, 75-69 in the Elite Eight to move on to the Final Four.

Of course, Curry is no stranger to impressive March Madness runs. In 2008, Curry led the No. 10 seed Davidson Wildcats to the Elite Eight with wins over No. 7 seed Gonzaga, No. 2 seed Georgetown and No. 3 seed Wisconsin before falling to eventual champion and No. 1 seed Kansas, 59-57.

Perhaps Curry’s luck will extend to Texas Tech, whose players have already taken a liking to their new kicks.

Texas Tech-Michigan State will tipoff at 5:49 p.m. PDT on Saturday, April 6.
