Trump reportedly says he is 'saving' Judge Amy Coney Barrett for Ginsburg's Supreme Court seat

After placing two picks on the Supreme Court bench during his two-plus years in office, President Trump has plans for adding a third.

Judge Amy Coney Barrett is part of Trump’s reserve bench of judges he’s waiting to add to the highest court in the land.

Axios reports that separate sources familiar with the president’s private conversations said of Barrett, “I’m saving her for Ginsburg."

While Ruth Bader Ginsburg hasn’t announced any plans to step down, the 86-year-old, has faced three bouts with cancer in the last two decades, but did return to the bench in February two months after lung cancer surgery.

According to Axios’ sources, Barrett was nearly Trump’s latest nominee instead of Brett Kavanaugh, however, the president’s advisors were concerned that Barrett’s openly pro-life stance would have cost them the confirmation votes, of Republican Senators Susan Collins of Maine and Alaska’s Lisa Murkowski.

Axios reports that based on Judge Barrett’s past academic writings, she could be open to reversing Roe versus. Wade, which legalized abortion in many circumstances.
