The Monmouth Bench Mob is back – and reacting to the 2019 NCAA Tournament's best moments

The Monmouth University Bench Mob captured the hearts of basketball fans everywhere back in 2015. Their perfectly choreographed reactions to the most exciting moments on the court quickly went viral on social media -- and even landed them on ESPN.

As is the nature of college, members of that famous 2015-16 group have now graduated and moved on. But, thanks to Degree, they're making a resurgence during this year's NCAA Tournament.

Former Bench Mob stars Dan Pillari ('18) and Greg Noack ('17) have returned to their craft, creating unique reactions to the most exciting moments throughout March Madness 2019.

"I love March Madness," Noack told AOL.com of the tournament. "It has been a bit chalky, but that's alright. Now we're getting into the final days of the tournament and that's when it really picks up."

Early round chalkiness aside, the excitement surrounding this year's tournament ramped up during the Sweet 16 – especially when Purdue and Tennessee went back-and-forth, landing themselves in a dramatic overtime period ripe for Monmouth-style reactions.

Noack and Pillari partnered with Degree to bring back some of the original Bench Mob's most iconic moves, as well as create new ones inspired by major plays, moments and upsets in 2019.

The biggest games on the biggest stages were what originally inspired the Monmouth Bench Mob's creativity. Back in 2015, games against UCLA, USC and Notre Dame were what first put Monmouth -- and its bench -- on the map.

"Coming from a smaller school, everybody was so excited to play those games," Pillari said. "We started doing these celebrations to rally our squad, and once the nation caught on, they really took off from there."

Old fan favorites, including the "Human Hoop" that premiered in Monmouth's 2015 victory over Notre Dame, have made appearances again during this year's tournament:

Pillari, Noack and Degree encourage fans to make like Monmouth and actively root for their teams, even if they're doing so from their couch at home.

"Even if you're on the couch at home, you're moving, you feel like you're playing defense," Pillari said of basketball's allure. "There's such high emotions because things can change so quickly."

Things certainly do change quickly in March Madness. After a jam-packed Sweet 16 and Elite Eight, Virginia is the only No. 1 seed remaining in the field. Fifth-seeded Auburn advanced after taking down No. 1 UNC and No. 2 Kentucky, while No. 3 Texas Tech knocked off No. 1 Gonzaga and No. 2 Michigan State shocked top-seeded Duke.

The Final Four of the men's tournament will take place this Saturday -- and there are bound to be several Bench Mob-worthy moments to come.
