Brothel owner and GOP candidate Dennis Hof died of heart attack

Dennis Hof, the Nevada brothel owner who was posthumously elected in a state Assembly seat race, died of a heart attack, an autopsy released Thursday revealed.

Hof, who called himself the “Trump from Pahrump,” was found dead at his Bunny Ranch by porn star Ron Jeremy on Oct. 16, 2018. The two had celebrated Hof’s 72nd birthday just a day before with friends, including Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

The Nye County Sheriff’s Office listed the cause of death as “acute myocardial infarction,” a heart attack, caused by atheroscleortic and hypternsive cardiovascular disease.

Diabetes and obesity were listed as “other significant conditions.” His death was ruled as natural.

THC, the chemical in marijuana; sildenafil, which is commonly used to treat erectile dysfunction and high blood pressure; and caffeine were found in his system, according to the report.

Hof’s political career took off last year after he defeated three-term Republican lawmaker James Oscarson in the primary of the Pahrump-area state Assembly race.

Even in his death, Hof kept the wins coming. He earned 70% of the vote to beat Democrat opponent Lesia Romanov in the race, three weeks after he died.

Gregory Hafen II, the general manager of a local utility company, was then appointed to fill the seat, according to the Associated Press.

In addition to his run for office, Hof appeared on the HBO reality show “Cathouse.”
