Twitter reacts to the Cleveland Browns picking up Odell Beckham Jr.
For the price of a mid-first-round pick, a third-round pick and safety Jabrill Peppers, the Cleveland Browns acquired one of the best receivers of a generation on Tuesday.
The Browns landed Odell Beckham Jr. in a shocking trade with the New York Giants, one that figures to significantly alter the landscape of not just the AFC North, but the entire NFL. Quarterback Baker Mayfield now has arguably both the most talented and deepest collection of weapons in the NFL and there’s no telling how far such an offense can take the team.
Naturally, the football world had no shortage of reactions to the trade.

Plenty of people needed a minute to process the news.

Then there was the litany of people preparing themselves for what figures to be the best Browns team in years, possibly decades.
The Steelers demise has been greatly exaggerated, but there’s no doubt the Browns are the new AFC North favorite.
— Mike Clay (@MikeClayNFL) March 13, 2019
AFC North will look very different next year:
Ravens: Lost CJ Mosley, Z Smith, Terrell Suggs, Eric Weddle
Steelers: Lost Antonio Brown, Le'Veon Bell
Bengals: Resign low-key vets
Browns: Add Sheldon Richardson, O Vernon, ODELL BECKHAM JR
Somewhere Baker Mayfield is smiling.

Odell Beckham, Jr. is one of the NFL’s best players. He’s signed through the 2023 season. He is only 26 years old. The @Browns gave the @Giants two high picks and a decent young safety. This is the kind of thing that teams used to do to Cleveland teams. I need a moment to adjust.

With @obj being traded to Cleveland, the Browns will join the Saints, Chiefs, and Rams as one of the most exciting and dangerous offenses in the NFL!

So the Steelers trade away @ab84 and the Browns acquire @obj to pair with @God_Son80 and @bakermayfield and just like that you have to think the AFC North is Cleveland’s to lose.
I just typed that without a stutter.

Current members of the Browns, and Joe Thomas, were especially happy to hear the news.

Of course, as a possible juggernaut rose in Cleveland, the New York Giants and general manager Dave Gettleman were widely criticized for parting with one of the most talented players in the NFL.

There's truth, then there's "NFL truth." Changes on a daily basis. https://t.co/gE1wu3OohA
— Tedy Bruschi (@TedyBruschi) March 13, 2019
I think the fair question to Dave Gettleman is this: Is a mid-1, a 3, and PFF’s 16th-rated safety “blowing you away” for the best player on your team? https://t.co/xyGOj8gmO7
— Peter King (@peter_king) March 13, 2019
i mean, it’s a lot more than pittsburgh got for antonio brown. but if gettleman turns those picks into a pro bowl guard and a decent pass rusher — which, whew, would really light his fire — is it worth a legitimate game changing receiver? serious question. https://t.co/GFRj4YBzZf

And all of that is just our first taste of an NFL where the Cleveland Browns are a legitimate threat. We’ll see what happens if they actually start to make some noise during the season.
