Dak Prescott reportedly warned his dogs could get loose before attacking, biting neighbor

Updated

Anyone running a class on responsible dog ownership in the Frisco, Texas area may want to keep a spot open for Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.

TMZ reported that Prescott was warned by authorities about securing his dogs before they got loose and attacked a neighbor and her dog in late February.

Two warnings

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, officials told Prescott (or residents of Prescott’s Frisco home) that his dogs were getting out and running loose in the neighborhood. In fact, Prescott was warned two separate times, and was even told how the dogs were escaping — through the garage door, which needs to be locked in order to close properly.

TMZ says that officials told Prescott that the garage needed to be fixed to stop his two dogs from escaping, but that it was never taken care of.

Prescott’s dogs attacked neighbor

It’s not clear when Prescott’s dogs escaped from his home on Feb. 25, but one of his neighbors saw her dog fighting with one of Prescott’s through a fence. She called the police to report it and then went outside to break up the fight. It turned out that her dog was actually fighting with two of Prescott’s dogs, and one of them bit her when she intervened.

The neighbor lost part of her right ring finger and was hospitalized for four days.

The dog that bit her, which according to TMZ is named Icon, was quarantined for 10 days at a local animal shelter. A court hearing is scheduled for March 20 to determine whether Icon is a “dangerous dog.” If so, the dog could be put down.
