Trump blasts ‘Wacky Nut Job’ Ann Coulter over border wall

President Trump on Saturday blasted conservative commentator Ann Coulter, a long-time supporter of the president who has lately criticized him over lack of progress on border wall construction.

“Wacky Nut Job @AnnCoulter, who still hasn’t figured out that, despite all odds and an entire Democrat Party of Far Left Radicals against me (not to mention certain Republicans who are sadly unwilling to fight), I am winning on the Border,” Trump tweeted.

“Major sections of Wall are being built and renovated, with MUCH MORE to follow shortly,” Trump continued. “Tens of thousands of illegals are being apprehended (captured) at the Border and NOT allowed into our Country. With another President, millions would be pouring in. I am stopping an invasion as the Wall gets built.”

Last month, Coulter announced that Trump has “destroyed” the country.

“Trump is the American Merkel,” Coulter tweeted. “But who cares about Germany? Trump just destroyed the U.S.A.”

That message came not long after White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders issued a statement.

“President Trump will sign the government funding bill, and as he has stated before, he will also take other executive action – including a national emergency – to ensure we stop the national security and humanitarian crisis at the border,” Sanders noted. “The President is once again delivering on his promise to build the wall, protect the border, and secure our great country.”

That funding bill was negotiated by a bipartisan group of lawmakers and does not provide Trump with the $5.7 billion in wall money he has been demanding.

NBC News reports it does include $1.375 billion for border fencing but prohibits “the use of a concrete wall or other Trump prototypes and specifies that only ‘existing technologies’ for fencing and barriers can be used.”
