Ocasio-Cortez privately warned centrist Democrats they'll be 'on a list' for 2020 challenges if they vote with Republicans

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is making a list and checking it twice.

The progressive hotshot from the Bronx warned moderate members of her party Thursday they’ll be “on a list” for primary challenges in 2020 if they keep voting with Republicans, according to a person familiar with the matter.

Corbin Trent, the communications director for Ocasio-Cortez, said the 29-year-old New York congresswoman lobbed the veiled threat during a closed-door caucus meeting while criticizing the 26 centrist Democrats who voted in favor of adding a Republican amendment to the gun control bill passed by the House this week.

“She said they’re putting themselves on a list for progressive challenges in the primaries,” Trent told the Daily News.

The gun control bill — which breezed through the Democratically-controlled House on Wednesday but is unlikely to succeed in the GOP-controlled Senate — mandates all gun purchasers undergo federal background checks before they can obtain their weapons.

With the Democratic help, House Republicans were able to tuck a provision into the bill requiring immigration authorities be alerted if an undocumented immigrant tries to buy a gun.

Trent said the amendment “endangers immigrants” and faulted the moderate Democrats for enabling it.
