Dwyane Wade, LeBron James connect one last time with All-Star Game alley-oop

LeBron James and Dwyane Wade had one of the great connections in NBA history, teaming up to play in four straight NBA Finals while winning a pair of championships with the Miami Heat.

On Sunday, the close friends had a chance to rekindle that connection one last time at the NBA All-Star Game, and they made the most of it.

Early in the third quarter, Kevin Durant threw an outlet pass to a streaking Wade off a rebound.

This looks familiar

James trailed Wade on a 3-on-1 break, setting up an ideal opportunity to make the highlight reel. Wade lobbed the ball in perfect position off the backboard for James to grab and slam it home for a two-handed alley-oop.

Just like the old days.

Wade called his shot before game

Before the game, Wade told Fox Sports his only goal of the weekend was to get James “one lob.”

“That’s what everybody wants to see,” Wade said.

Mission accomplished.

James: Game was bittersweet

“It meant everything,” James said of playing with Wade again. “It’s been a bittersweet moment for me. The bitter part is obviously this is our last time being on the floor together and playing the game that we love so much.

“The sweet part about it — just seeing him being able to go off on his own terms.”

Team LeBron won Sunday’s All-Star game, rallying from a 20-point deficit to beat Team Giannis, 178-164.

James tallied 19 points with eight rebounds and four assists while Wade posted seven points and four rebounds off the bench in his final All-Star Game.
