Bill Clinton reportedly writing a new book about his life since being president

Former President Bill Clinton is reportedly working on a new book about his life since leaving the White House.

According to the New York Times, Paul Bogaards, an executive vice president for Knopf Doubleday, said that specifics about the book are unclear at this time.

Notably, Clinton has been out of office for about two decades and, in that time, has released four books.

The news of the fifth book comes as the #MeToo movement has put him under increased scrutiny, notes Axios.

As such, during the 2018 midterm elections, many Democrats were reluctant to include him in their campaign efforts.

The fear was that the association would impair efforts to hold President Trump accountable for his offensive comments about women.

That matter was exacerbated in June of 2018 when Clinton said on NBC’s ‘Today’ show that he did not feel he owes Monica Lewinsky an apology.

He later expressed regret for that comment, noting it “wasn’t my finest hour.”
