Sen. Elizabeth Warren launches presidential 'exploratory committee,' will likely run in 2020

Sen. Elizabeth Warren tossed her name into the ring for the 2020 presidential campaign Monday.

The Massachusetts Democrat announced her decision to establish an exploratory committee in a video clip emailed to her supporters that focused on support for the middle class.

“Our government is supposed to work for all of us, but instead, it has become a tool for the wealthy and well-connected,” she says in the video. “If we organize together, if we fight together, if we persist together, we can win.”

Warren, 69, is the first prominent Democrat to make her 2020 intentions clear, though many others are expected to follow suit.
