Trump: Democrats engaged in 'presidential harassment' while 'I am waiting' in White House to do a deal

Updated

President Trump on Saturday again went after Democrats in the wake of a partial government shutdown.

“I am in the White House waiting for the Democrats to come on over and make a deal on Border Security. From what I hear, they are spending so much time on Presidential Harassment that they have little time left for things like stopping crime and our military!” Trump tweeted.

In another tweet on Christmas Eve, he had written: “I am all alone (poor me) in the White House waiting for the Democrats to come back and make a deal on desperately needed Border Security. At some point the Democrats not wanting to make a deal will cost our Country more money than the Border Wall we are all talking about. Crazy!”

CNN reported early Saturday: “Trump has canceled his New Year’s plans in order to remain in Washington until a deal over border wall funds is reached and the partial government shutdown ends, according to the President’s incoming acting chief of staff.”

Trump has used the term “presidential harassment” multiple times in the recent past.

“Without the phony Russia Witch Hunt, and with all that we have accomplished in the last almost two years (Tax & Regulation Cuts, Judge’s, Military, Vets, etc.) my approval rating would be at 75% rather than the 50% just reported by Rasmussen,” he tweeted on December 6. “It’s called Presidential Harassment!”
